16. The search for good coffee

3rd Dec 2013

It began raining during the night and continued to rain throughout the day, what to do on a rainy day? I know, find a nice cafe and watch the world go by as you drink coffee. With this in mind I hit up www.tripadvisor for some recommendations...hmmm not a lot on offer so I give www.beanhunter a whirl, the one place it recommends does not exist anymore. Andrew and I are on our own and after trying 5 different cafes in Ushuaia I know why we couldn't find any reviews for good coffee - there isn't any to be had, it is a coffee wasteland. In between our increasingly depressing search for good coffee we spent a very enjoyable few hours in the Galeria Tematica where I may or may not have been seen trying to steal a bag a wheat. This was a throughly enjoyable museum experience that took us through a quick history of Tierra del Fuego with life sized models and an English audio guide. The rest of the day was spent looking for a snow globe, exploring the back streets and crying in our coffee.

Bag of wheat, what bag of wheat?

Yep looks like I fit in here
Andrew has found some drinking buddies that like beer more than me

Honor and recognition - sounds awesome

There was some sort of protest going on and 10 or so city buses where parked in the main street for our whole stay and the protesters looked like they were there for the long haul

Found a snow globe for our Puppy Sitter

I don't know... it looks a bit like Andrew if he lets his hair grow long and has a mow
